St. Mary’s Chess Club Fall Tournament

St. Mary’s School in Greenville, SC hosted the annual Fall Chess Tournament for second through eighth grade students on Saturday morning, November 15, 2008.   Twenty eight students competed in four divisions based on grade level with awards going to the top three in each division. 

Division 1 (Grades 2-3)

First Place: Colin Burns, Second Place: Matthew Snow, Third Place: Ryan McLear

Division 2 (Grade 4)

First Place: Elias Longenecker, Second Place: Diego Franco, Third Place: Elise Maness

Division 3 (Grade 5)

First Place: Morgan Guest, Second Place: Andrew VanNorden, Third Place: Teddy Snow

Division 4 (Grade 6-8) First Place: Luke Lepak, Second Place: Ben Ragan, Third Place: Dylan Wynn

The Fall Tournament is sponsored by the St. Mary’s School Chess Club which was formed in 2007 and comprises over 10% of the school.  The Club meets in the morning before school every week during the school year.
