Chess College(s) of the Year Awards & President's Cup (The Final Four of College Chess)

 

US Chess Federation also provides provides scholasrships.

 

USCF Scholar-ChessPlayer Award Selection Criteria:    These annual scholarships awarded by the USCF and the US Chess Trust, are intended to recognize and encourage high school junior or senior students who promote a positive image of chess. Current USCF members (high school juniors or seniors) who have shown outstanding merit in academics, sportsmanship, and chess are eligible to apply for a National Scholar-Chessplayer Award. Five awards of $1000.00 each (for a total of $5,000.00) in scholarship money are available. Applications are available online.

          -  Chess-Player Scholar (up to full-tuition, room, and board);

          -  Special Merit for Chess (up to $10,000 per year);

          -  Tournament-Based Awards (up to full tuition)

          Waiver of all tuition and mandatory fees plus $1000 per year toward housing for each of 4 years.

          Scholarship will be upgraded if student has an excellent academic record. Approximate value $18,000+.
